Type Locality and Naming

Along the Khatinbulak spring in Aydynsay, North Nuratau Range. I.A. Kim, S.K. Piven, O.B. Ivanova (1987f.). Stratotype on the southern slope of Mount Merishkor, north of the village of Chashma-Zrak.

Synonym: Khatynbulak Suite, Хатинбулакская св., Khetynbulaq suite.


Lithology and Thickness

Upper part is massive limestones.

Lower part – sparitic, crinoidal, interbedded clayey siltstones and limestones. Thickness 120 m.

Relationships and Distribution

Lower contact

Lower boundary tectonic.

Upper contact

Upper boundary normal with the overlying Chaltash Fm (460).

Regional extent

North Nuratau Range, southern slope of Mount Merishkor.
